Learning Opportunities for Registries
Learning and Capacity-Building Opportunities are Facilitated by IACR in various forms:
Follow GICR on Twitter for the latest on cancer registry development activities and updates
-
Training Workshops during the IACR Annual Scientific Meetings;
-
Mentoring with registries supported by the Calum Muir, Constance Percy and IACR Confernce Fellowships;
-
Masterclasses, workshops and webinars / E-Learning modules organised by the IARC - Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development (GICR)
GICR is helping transitioning countries build their capacity to collect local cancer data, synthesize the data, and disseminate findings, so that targeted actions can be taken to tackle the rising cancer burden. The demands for training in cancer registration are high, with many countries requiring assistance. In most cases it takes time to properly train registry personnel in all of the required skills. To be able to reach those that need the support, a global support network is being developed through the GICRNet - a global network of IARC-trained experts who can support in-country capacity building.
